Professor Tiziana Provvidera Publishes Translation of Justus Lipsius
John Cabot University Humanities Professor Tiziana Provvidera recently published an Italian translation of the first volume of political works by 16th century Flemish philologist and humanist Justus Lipsius. This is the first time that Lipsius’ complete political works have been translated into Italian.
The volume, Giusto Lipsio, OPERE POLITICHE vol. I – La Politica, published by Nino Aragno Editore, was recently presented at Turin’s Salone Internazionale del Libro (International Book Fair) and received a positive review in leading Italian newspaper Il Sole 24Ore.
Edited, annotated, and translated from the Latin by professor Provvidera, who also provided the introduction, the book also includes an essay by internationally renowned historian Marc Fumaroli.
Professor Provvidera, who teaches Philosophy and Culture of the Italian Renaissance at John Cabot University, is also Honorary Research Fellow at University College London.
