Dean Mary Merva Invited to Participate in Aspen Institute Italia Seminar

Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs Mary Merva had the pleasure of being invited to participate in the 3rd edition of the Aspen Institute Italia Seminar on “The Enlightenment and the Transatlantic Link: Common Roots and Today’s Challenges.” This seminar was based on the format of the long-running and widely-acclaimed cornerstone program of The Aspen Institute in the United States.

The event, organized in collaboration with The Aspen Institute, was open to Italian and non-Italian members as well as other leaders with different background and provenance. Selected writings by prominent European and American authors were the basis for the debate on the relationship between the values of the Enlightenment period and the issues facing the world today. The seminar was held on September 21-23, 2012, in Spoleto (Perugia).
