John Cabot University is proud to announce that JCU English professor Carlos Dews’s new novel Blood of the Lamb, co-written with award-winning mystery writer S.J. Rozan, will be published in August of 2013.

The Summer 2013 catalog for Penguin/Blue Rider Books includes a two-page spread about the novel, which is the first of a series of books that Prof. Dews and Ms. Rozan will write for this publisher, using the pseudonym of Sam Cabot.

The Historian meets The Da Vinci Code in this exhilarating supernatural thriller set in Rome, where rival groups are searching for a document that holds a secret that could shatter the Catholic Church,” says the catalog.

S.J. Rozan (photo left), a native New Yorker, is the author of twelve novels. Her work has won numerous awards including the the Edgar, Shamus, Anthony, Nero, and Macavity awards for Best Novel and the Edgar for Best Short Story.

Professor Dews (photo right) is Chair of JCU’s Department of English Language and Literature as well as Director of the Institute for Creative Writing and Literary Translation. His books include his edition of The Complete Novels of Carson McCullers (Library of America), and Illumination and Night Glare: The Unfinished Autobiography of Carson McCullers (University of Wisconsin). With Carolyn Leste Law, Dews edited Out in the South (Temple) and This Fine Place So Far From Home: Voices of Academics from the Working Class (Temple).
