Students Services Sponsors Memorable Valentine's Week at JCU

Valentine's Week at JCU

Valentine’s Week at JCU

Student Services were very enthusiastic about all of the events and activities that took place at JCU during Valentine’s Week! All the Clubs that got involved truly made it a memorable week!

The week kicked off with The Women’s Leadership Initiative hosting the spectacular Bohemian Valentine’s Day Performance. There was a great turn out and everyone enjoyed the fabulous show!

STAND played cupid by selling sweet treats and chocolate covered strawberries in the Tiber Cafe, with all profits going to the Joel Nafuma Refugee Center. The Business Club, who sponsored the American Candy Sale, donated all of their proceeds to STAND as well.

The LGBT-Straight Alliance Club’s photo booth in the Aula Magna was very well organized, and produced lovely and memorable pictures. The Martial Arts Club also had Valentine’s fever and organized the “Stop-In the Name of Love” self-defense workshop!

A variety of interesting movies were also screened this past week at JCU. The Grassroots showed their movie 180° South on Thursday, The Ipazia Club screened Miss Representation, and in line with the Valentine’s theme, the LGBT club sponsored a showing of Mean Girls.

A big thank you to all those involved in supporting Valentine’s week 2014 at JCU!
