On October 31st, 2014 JCU student Loredana Mihani participated in a conference entitled John Keats’s Early Poems, 1814-1817 at the Keats-Shelley House, a museum in Rome dedicated to the English Romantic poets.

Loredana Mihani presented her paper on Keats’s early poetic vision, exploring the confines between solipsism and humanity, as well as the realm of the ideal and the real. Mihani was the youngest speaker of all participants, who were mostly postgraduate or senior researchers from Italy, the UK, and the USA.

Reflecting on her experience, Mihani stated: “As I am passionate about literature and Romantic literature, this was a great opportunity for me to present my ideas and listen to the insights of others. I feel honored and privileged that I was invited to speak at the Keats-Shelley House in Rome.”

Loredana Mihani is majoring in English Literature, with minors in International Affairs and Italian Studies. Originally from Albania, she has been living in Italy for many years. Mihani is fluent in English, Italian, and Albanian.

“A hearty thanks to Professors Shannon Russell and Lewis Klausner for their encouragement, constant support, and help. John Cabot University is a dynamic, stimulating, and supportive environment, and I feel fortunate to be a part of it.”
