Volunteer in an Italian National Park in May with JCU Grassroots

Do you want to have a truly unforgettable experience this summer? Then volunteer with Grassroots this May in Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, a protected area covering nearly 200 square miles of rugged, pristine land in the Central Apennines.

The Park is home to the highly threatened Marsican brown bear and Apennine wolf, as well as many other rare species of flora and fauna. Participants will assist with a variety of volunteer work such as trail maintenance, beekeeping, scientific research and litter removal. The trip will also include guided educational tours, from a field class on the importance of healthy ecosystems to a very special bear-watching excursion.

The great Henry David Thoreau wrote: “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.” Live and learn with us this summer in wild Abruzzo!
