JCU Business Club Social Media Competition

On February 24, 2016, John Cabot University’s Business Club, in collaboration with the Institute for Entrepreneurship, hosted JCU’s first-ever social media competition. Two teams presented their social media strategies for the start-up company Nausdream directly to CEO Marco Deiosso and CFO Ousmane Dieng. The panel of judges was composed of Professor Daniele Pica, President of the Business Club, Ilaria Colasanti, and Nausdream’s Web Marketing Manager, Rossella D’Orsi.

The first team developed a social media strategy based on incentives for users who share the company’s content, for instance by receiving a discount in exchange for a share during a certain time. On the other hand, the second team suggested a change in target audience by focusing on both study abroad and resident students.

After a few minutes of deliberations, the judges voted for the second team, Team B, as the winners, because of their strategy’s very specific targeting. The winning team was formed by: Morganne Peterman, Nadia Polonova, Margarita Minzateanu, Eva Ndreko and Ryan Julius.
