Professor Antonio Lopez

The website of the United States’ National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE) recently interviewed JCU Professor Antonio Lopez as an “m-passioned member.”

The NAMLE’s mission is to expand and improve the practice of media literacy education in the United States. Media literacy is defined as the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media in a variety of forms, including digital media, computers, video games, radio, television, mobile media, print, and communication technologies.

Antonio Lopez is Assistant Professor of Communications and Media Studies at JCU. He has long been dedicated to building the bridge between media education and sustainable education. He has published three books on the subject, including Mediacology, The Media Ecosystem, and Greening Media Education. Professor Lopez teaches Introduction to Visual Communication, Writing Across the Media, Media Culture and Society, Digital Media Culture, Media and the Environment, Writing Across the Media, Advanced Media Theory, and Senior Capstone Seminar.
