Sorgner on Nietzschean Transhumanism

After giving an invited talk at the Global Initiatives Symposium 2016 in Taiwan, JCU Philosophy Professor Stefan Sorgner was interviewed for German public television. The interview, tackling nietzschean transhumanism, evolution, and human perfection, will be broadcast on July 30 at 5.30 pm.

Sorgner’s thinking has been widely received in public media, and its relevance is being acknowledged by fellow academics. Together with well-known thinkers such as Bernard Stiegler and Jean-Luc Nancy, he was invited to present his Nietzschean transhumanism in a collection entitled “Why We are Nietzscheans,” which will be coming out in October 2016 in French.

Professor Sorgner is spending the summer as Visiting Professor at Friedrich-Schiller-University of Jena. He was also invited to be Visiting Fellow at the Ethics Centre of FSU.
