According to ll Sole 24 Ore, there are 379,584 foreign entrepreneurs in Italy, representing 11.2% of the country’s GNP. John Cabot University alumnus Guk Kim is one of the foreign entrepreneurs whose story the paper thought was worth telling.

Born in Korea, Guk Kim moved to Italy with his family when he was a child and graduated from John Cabot University in 2009 with a double major in Business Administration and Economics.

25-year-old Guk is founder and CEO of the restaurant finder Cibando Ltd. A quality content and media communications company based in Italy, Cibando caters to restaurants and other dining enterprises, and actively involves a global foodie community. The company, which is actually Guk’s third startup, has over 1500 restaurants as clients. The free Cibando app was chosen by Apple as the best app in the “What to do in the City” section in 2012.

Guk told Il Sole 24 Ore that his company is looking for food editors, business consultants and iOS and Android developers. His motto is, in fact, “Always be recruiting.”

The JCU community is very proud of Guk’s achievements and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors!
