Rome Model United Nations: Student Muhannad AlMaghlooth

Muhannad AlMaghlooth is an International Affairs major from Saudi Arabia.

“I was invited to participate in the Rome Model United Nations by the JCU MUN society this March. I discovered that the conference serves as a platform to live out a diplomatic career, which I dream of pursuing in the future. RomeMUN was an incredible opportunity for me since it was the first time took part in such an event.

The opening ceremony was held in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) building, and was attended by numerous diplomats, translators, and specialized FAO staff, who made the experience both noteworthy and realistic.

During the conference, delegates discussed several topics related to the post-2015 sustainable development initiatives. Representing Finland, I was able to put forth initiatives for sustainable energy development, as well as the promotion of international cooperation.

Looking back at my experience at RomeMUN, I am very pleased to have been part of such an engaging event. I gained great insight on world affairs, and I hope to take part in future conferences. I thank the MUN Society at JCU for giving me this wonderful opportunity.”
