A record 75 student volunteers have signed up to participate in JCU's Italy Reads, John Cabot University's community-based reading and cultural exchange program. Students committed themselves to prepare for the Italy Reads program by volunteering to read 'The Great Gatsby' and  work with the over 30 Italian Public High Schools that are part of this program of cultural exchange around.

On June 21st, JCU Summer 2012 Writer in Residence Joyce Carol Oates and Professor of English Carlos Dews welcomed a crowd of high school students and members of the JCU Community in the Aula Magna Regina for the first Italy Writes Creative Writing Contest Awards Ceremony.
