JCU Regrets to Announce Passing of Michael E. Good, Fourth President of the University

John Cabot University regrets to announce the passing of Michael E. Good, who was John Cabot University’s fourth President, from 1996 to 1999. Born in 1944, Dr. Good was a political scientist by training. During his long career in higher education, he served as Director of Syracuse University’s Center in Florence, and had recently retired from the faculty of California State University, East Bay.

In commenting the death of Dr. Good, John Cabot University President Franco Pavoncello said: “President Good took office in what was probably the most difficult moment of JCU life, and carried out strategic initiatives which transformed our University. Most notably, he opened the school to study abroad students, started the process of regional accreditation, and built the Frohring Library. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family.”
