JCU Professor Silvia Scarpa Attends Course at EUI

John Cabot University Professor of Political Science Silvia Scarpa is attending the “Global Governance and Transnational Human Rights Obligations” seminar, held between November 28 and December 1, and organized by the Academy of Global Governance of the European University Institute (EUI) and the Universiteit of Antwerp.

The course is taught by leading experts in the field of global governance and aims at examining the disempowerment of the State at the international level and the emerging framework in which other actors, including transnational corporations, international organizations, as well as States other than the territorial state, are becoming more and more relevant. Therefore, the course aims at discussing the emerging framework of human rights obligations that are relevant to these actors.

Professor Scarpa was generously granted funds covering travelling and lodging expenses by the JCU Faculty Development Committee (FDC).
