New York Times Praises Professor Aaron Carpenè's Conducting
John Cabot University is pleased to announce that Professor Aaron Carpenè’s recent work conducting Handel’s Acis and Galatea at the Macau International Music Festival received a glowing review in the New York Times.
Aaron Carpenè, professor of music at John Cabot University, was guest conductor of the Akademie für Alte Musik from Berlin in Handel’s timeless opera Acis and Galatea during the 25th Macao International Music Festival (MIMF). The Akademie für Alte Musik BERLIN (Akamus) was founded in 1982 and is recognized as one of the world’s leading chamber orchestras. Prof. Carpenè was joined by an international cast and an Italian production team for three sold out performances on October 14th through 16th in Macao’s historic opera theater built by the Portuguese in 1850.
Prof. Carpenè will be teaching American Music and Italian Opera during the Spring 2012 term.
