Chiara De Luca: From Naples to St Andrews University in Scotland
“I have just graduated from John Cabot University in Communications, with a minor in Psychology. I dreamed of studying at this university since I was 16 years old, because JCU featured everything I was looking for: a different and dynamic academic experience, students and professors from all over the world, and last but not least, a merit-based environment and dedicated scholarships for Italian students!
My dream came true when I enrolled at John Cabot in 2009. Since then, I have built strong and life-lasting friendships with students from 70 countries. Furthermore, JCU’s small classes facilitated a personal relationship with professors who are curious to know students’ opinions and encourage class discussion. Each class topic is open to debate and critical analysis, which I think is a great way to acquire useful skills to face the challenges of a globalized and increasingly competitive future.
Starting in September, I will attend an MA program in Sustainable Development at the University of St. Andrews, one of the United Kingdom’s oldest and most prestigious institutions. I first learned about this program at John Cabot and, thanks to the excellent command of English and the strong academic preparation that I received at JCU, I was able to apply to and then be accepted at such a prominent institution.
Now, I am ready to live my second dream!”
