JCU Alumna Clara Giannini's Class Assignment Published
JCU Alumna Clara Giannini, who graduated in 2012 with her B.A. in Art History and a Minor in Italian Studies, has published a story-board, entitled Filtro PPP, in the journal La libellula. Rivista di Italianistica.
Written as a home-assignment for the JCU course IT 319: The Image of Rome in Italian Literature and Cinema taught by Prof. Federica Capoferri, the story-board explores the relationship between Pier Paolo Pasolini and Alberto Moravia’s literary works by the means of a fictional short-story.
In response to the news of the publication, Professor Capoferri said: “When I read Clara’s assignment I was extremely impressed by her capacity of transforming and re-interpreting the books, movies and critical articles we were studying through the lens of a fictional story, a rare example of creative criticism. I encouraged her to submit the story to a journal and I am very happy that such a selective journal as La Libellula has accepted it.”
La Libellula is an on-line annual journal of Italian Studies that, along with critical essays on Italian literature and cinema, publishes creative writing sections. Clara’s work has been included in the section “Narrativa.”
