Student Government Travels to Bulgaria for ISLC
On March 27th, a delegation of five members of the John Cabot University Student Government traveled to Bulgaria to participate in the 5th annual International Student Leadership Conference (ISLC).
The ISLC was founded by JCU in 2009 with the aim of creating a liaison between the student governments of all American universities abroad. The conference was hosted by JCU each successive year until 2014, when the American University of Bulgaria stepped up to the plate.
The conference gives students a space to discuss common issues and helps them to develop their leadership and cross-cultural communication skills.
Participating American universities at ISLC 2014 included the American College of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki, Greece), American University in Bulgaria (Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria), American University of Central Asia (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), American University of Beirut (Beirut, Lebanon), American University in Kosovo (Pristina, Kosovo), John Cabot University (Rome, Italy), and Saint Louis University (Madrid, Spain).
The ISLC 2014 was a successful transition into the new rotating system in which a different international American University will host the conference each year. The 2015 conference will be held at Saint Louis University in Madrid.
