JCU Student Jasmine Manari's Short Film Selected for Cinewest Film Festival

Congratulations to JCU Communications Major Jasmine Manari, whose second short-film, My Big Mouth Vagina has been selected for screening at the Cinewest Film Festival in Sydney, Australia. The festival runs from September 19th to 21st.

Jasmine’s film is based on “The Moaner’s Episode” of Eve Ensler’s theatrical play The Vagina Monologues. It focuses on the experience of a female lawyer who is fed up with her apathetic and boring career and decides to quit her job to start a new life as a prostitute for women. My Big Mouth Vagina premiered internationally at the London Lesbian Film Festival in Ontario, Canada on April 26, 2014.

Jasmine, who shot her first short film The Urchin in JCU’s Aula Magna Regina, is taking advantage of John Cabot University’s exchange programs and is currently studying film in New York City. In Spring 2014 she studied at California State University at Long Beach where she took courses in directing, production management, editing, video acting, piano, and dance.
