Professor Argentieri Publishes Article in Corriere della Sera on "Historical Roots of Hungarian Toughness"
The main Italian daily, Corriere della Sera, published an opinion editorial by JCU professor Federigo Argentieri. The article explains Hungary’s brutal attitude towards Syrian and other refugees as they cross the Serbian-Hungarian border.
According to Professor Argentieri, memories of the distant and recent past, concerns about the uniqueness of Hungarian cultural identity, and misunderstandings in the process of affiliation with European institutions all contribute to the “toughness” of the government led by Viktor Orbán.
