Fall 2015 Elevator Pitch Competition
On Monday November 23, the JCU Institute for Entrepreneurship presented the Fall 2015 Elevator Pitch Final Competition. This semester 12 finalists were selected from among more than 100 participants in three categories: Business Idea, Personal Pitch and Social Advocacy.
The Elevator Pitch takes the form of a one-minute, no-visuals presentation, a quick way of putting across the fundamental elements of a business idea, a social cause, or even one’s professional qualifications. Public speaking is stressful for most people, but the finalists rose to the occasion, staying calm and smiling even in the face of the hard questions asked by the jury, projecting thorough preparation and professionalism.
Congratulations are in order for the three winners: Romeo Sacco, who promoted an anti-graffiti protective coating, Olivia Gambelin who convincingly explained why she wanted to work in Silicon Valley, and Halina Lohvin who advocated a program to teach respect to children.
