Latest Book Published by JCU Professor Mike Watson

Professor Mike Watson of JCU’s Department of Communications has published his latest book, Towards a Conceptual Militancy.

An art theorist and curator, Prof. Watson teaches COM 111 Introduction to Visual Communication at JCU.

Published by Zero Books, Watson’s publication calls on the artist to mount a defense of subjective freedom in opposition to the twin objectifying factors of Science and Capital, personified by growing surveillance technology. It attempts to bring art back into the social sphere after decades of cultural modification.

The book will be available for purchase as of May 27, 2016.
