President Franco Pavoncello and the entire JCU community join Chairman Frank Guarini and the Board of Trustees in mourning the passing of our beloved Trustee, Robert J. Del Tufo on March 3, 2016. He was 82 years old.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Mr. Del Tufo attended Princeton University and Yale Law School. He served as attorney general of New Jersey from 1990-93. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Del Tufo set up the United States’ first environmental prosecutor and established the first statewide agency to combat hate crime. In 1993 he joined the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom where he worked until his retirement in 2014.

The Hon. Frank J. Guarini, Chairman of the JCU Board of Trustees, wrote: “Mr. Del Tufo truly was dedicated to JCU and will be an irreplaceable loss to our University. He served well, with love and good humor, a true leader who was always there for us.”
