Marketing Students Welcome Luigi Fidelio, CMO at VMSme
On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, students of Professor Salvatore’s Principles of Marketing class welcomed Luigi Fidelio, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at VMSme.
Founded in 2012, VMSme is a startup that enables instant messaging functionalities into any digital environment, such as in mobile apps, desktop apps, web apps, and TV apps. Fidelio explained to the students how challenges of the market brought the company to change its strategy on positioning, segmentation and pivoting. The move from a Business to Consumer (B2C) model to a Business to Business to Consumer (B2B2C) model has been crucial for the success of the business, said Fidelio.
Professor Salvatore regularly invites company representatives to meet with her students. These companies and organizations are part of the 440 that constitute the JCU Center for Career Services portfolio.
“Bringing to class company testimonials is an effective way to encourage students to relate marketing theories to practical concepts and cases. It is a straightforward method to understand the mechanisms regulating marketing,” said Professor Salvatore.
