Professor Serafino Amato’s “False Finzioni”

From Tuesday, September 5 to Saturday, September 9,  JCU photography professor Serafino Amato will present the exhibit False Finzioni (Fake Fictions). The exhibit, conceptualized by Professor Amato and curated by Francesca Capriccioli, will feature photos by Andrea Ruggeri and texts by Roberta Valtorta and Francesca Capriccioli, with Prof. Amato as the subject of the photographs.

False Finzioni will open on Tuesday, September 5 at 6:30 PM. On Thursday, September 7 at 6:30 PM there will be a conversation between Professor Amato and author Lorenzo Pavolini. False Finzioni will take place in Via Carlo Alberto 63, in Rome (Interno 14 of the building).

A professor at JCU since 2008, Serafino Amato has been exhibiting his photography since 1986. His exhibits include: Sull’astrazione (1986), Millenovecentocinquantasette, viaggio negli U.S.A., Segnavia (1989), Emblémata (1994), Der Professor, der Assistent, und (1997), Pallido Pallido (1998), Appunti per operette morali (2002), Fogli dei giorni (2008), RareFare (with Georgina Spengler) (2017). Starting in 1990 Amato contributed to a number of art magazines, and since 2000 he is also a videographer and documentarist. At John Cabot University, Professor Amato teaches AS 215 – Video Art and AS 289 – Digital Photography.
