John Cabot University Alumni Gathering in London
On Friday, February 2, 2018, the John Cabot University alumni community in London came together on the occasion of the Alumni Gathering. The event was held at The Franklin Hotel, located in the neighborhood of South Kensington, around the corner from the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was organized by JCU U.K. Alumni Ambassador, Ksenia Kurileva, class of 2014. Jacqueline Falk Maggi, Director of the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs and Erin Swanson, Assistant to the Director of Development and Alumni Affairs were also present at the gathering. More than thirty alumni from various graduating classes and nationalities connected over an Italian-style aperitivo, which included the delicious canapés of Michelin-starred chef Alfredo Russo.
At the event, Jacqueline and Erin provided updates on the University. They talked about the new Caroline Critelli Guarini Campus, which was inaugurated at the beginning of the Spring 2018 semester. In addition to classrooms and a physics lab, the Critelli building houses the Admissions Office, the Center for Career Services & Continuing Education, and the Finance Office. Jacqueline and Erin also informed the alumni about the exciting new programs JCU has recently started offering, such as the Master of Arts in Art History. With representatives of classes ranging from 1991 to 2017, the Alumni Gathering was the perfect opportunity to catch up with old friends and also to make new ones. Long-standing alumni got to know recent graduates and they offered advice on how to adapt to London.
The Alumni Gathering was the second event organized by Ksenia, who plans to host two more events this year for the nearly 150 alumni currently living in London.
