JCU Hosts New York Gala: April 10 at Union League Club
The John Cabot University Board of Trustees is pleased to invite the JCU community and friends to the New York Gala, which will take place at the Union League Club on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 7:00 pm.
The New York Gala, an annual tradition, is a premier event that brings together alumni, parents, Trustees, and friends. A celebration of John Cabot University, the Gala offers the opportunity to support academic initiatives, scholarships, and cultural programs since the proceeds benefit the JCU Annual Fund.
Each year during the Gala, John Cabot University honors those who have contributed to the University by demonstrating their commitment to education and by exemplifying the University’s mission. This year’s honorees are Ms. Adriana Trigiani and Mr. Raymond W. Kelly.
Adriana Trigiani is the New York Times bestselling author of 17 books in fiction and nonfiction, as well as a playwright, television writer/producer, and filmmaker. Ms. Trigiani co-founded The Origin Project with Nancy Bolmeier Fisher, an in-school writing program which serves over a thousand students in the Appalachian mountains of Virginia. She will receive the Frank J. Guarini Medal for Leadership in Business and Cultural Affairs.
Raymond W. Kelly is one of the world’s most well-known and highly esteemed leaders in law enforcement, with fifty years in public service, including fourteen years as police commissioner of the City of New York City. In September 2006, Commissioner Kelly was awarded France’s highest decoration, the Légion d’honneur, by then French Minister of the Interior Nicholas Sarkozy. Mr. Kelly is currently the CEO of The Guardian Group. He will receive the Frank J. Guarini Medal for Leadership in Public Service.
