Spring 2018 Career Fair: Fostering Work Culture among JCU Students
John Cabot University hosted the Spring 2018 Career Fair, featuring 71 business representatives and 127 participants between students and graduates, on Friday, April 13. Over 400 job interviews were conducted during the event. Among the partner organizations were American Express, KPMG, Linkem, Galleria Doria Pamphilj, UNESCO, FeBAF, Agenzia Scalabriniana and Rocco Forte Hotels.
Cristiano Panfili, a consulting companies representative of Looking 4 Value, Web Magistri consulting and Day One said that “Career Fair at JCU is a unique opportunity for employers to scout new talents to secure the future of their business.”
Prof. Antonella Salvatore, the Director of the Center for Career Services and marketing professor, noted that “Career Fair allows candidates to have several interviews with company representatives all in one day within the university.” The event is organized three times a year by the JCU Career Services Center as a way to connect academia with the professional world and help young people explore their professional paths and start a career through work and internship experiences.
To better prepare the students and alumni who choose to participate, various seminars are provided throughout the semester. Seminars focus on polishing the participants’ CVs and cover letters, developing interviewing skills, and providing tips on how to land a good internship.
Maria Bondar, an upcoming graduate in Communications and Psychology, added “attending Career Fair allows you gain valuable work experience while you are still a student. I am really grateful to JCU for providing this opportunity.”
