On May 24 Reuters interviewed JCU President Franco Pavoncello on the new Italian government that is expected to take office soon.
President Pavoncello also recently participated in TRT World’s the Roundtable, a program aimed at presenting a variety of perspectives on current affairs. Entitled “How far will Italy’s populism spread?”, the episode brought together a panel of experts to discuss the coalition government being formed by the Five Star Movement and the League, the two parties that received the most votes during the March 4 national elections. The other guests of the program presented by David Foster were Manlio Di Stefano, an MP for Italy’s Five Star Movement; Luigi Scazzieri, from the Centre for European Reform, an EU think tank; and Nicola Chelotti, EU foreign policy specialist at Loughborough University London.
A leading analyst of Italian politics, Dr. Pavoncello’s work has appeared in, among others, the American Political Science Review, the British Journal of Political Science, Asian Studies, and World Affairs. He is also a well-known media commentator on Italian affairs, a contributor to major international newspapers such as the New York Times and the International Herald Tribune, and he appears regularly on radio and television networks including CNN, BBC, Reuters Press and TV, and many other media organizations.
At its recent meeting in New York City, the Board of Trustees of John Cabot University voted to extend President Franco Pavoncello’s mandate until June 2023.
