A Glimpse Into JCU: Second Academic Webinar Series
John Cabot University’s Admissions Office is happy to announce the second round of the Academic Webinar Series. Featuring alumni and current JCU professors, the series aims to help prospective students and parents get a special glimpse into the academics at JCU. The series is hosted by JCU alumnus and DS Admissions Counselor Giovanni Raguso (Class of 2019).
The Academic Webinar series will showcase Political Science and International Affairs on October 28 at 6 p.m. CET; Business Administration, Economics, and Marketing on November 4 at 6 p.m. CET; Communications, English Literature, and Psychological Science on November 11 at 6 p.m. CET; and Art History, History, and Humanities on November 18 at 6 p.m. CET.
The International Affairs and Political Science session featuring Professor Pamela Harris, Professor Michael Driessen, and Professor Silvia Scarpa, accompanied by two JCU alumni, Alexandria Maloney and Valeriya Barybina, will kick off the series.
Alumna Alexandria Maloney (Class of 2015) currently works for the Department of Defense and serves as the Director of Communications for the Black Professionals in International Affairs (BPIA). She earned her M.P.A. from Cornell University, her M.A. from Morgan State University, and her B.A. from John Cabot University where she majored in International Affairs.
Alexandria was the Founder and President of the JCU Women’s Leadership Initiative, a lead performer of the JCU Musical Theater, and an organizer of JCU’s 1st “Romecoming week.” She is also a member and mentor for Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security, and Conflict Transformation (WCAPS) and a 2018 Forbes Under 30 Scholar.
Alumna Valeriya Barybina (Class of 2019) was born in Ukraine but grew up in Greece and the US, and came to JCU to pursue her degree in International Affairs. She chose JCU because of the multicultural and diverse environment. Valeriya is now managing Investor Relations & Business Development at Qi4M, a finance and artificial intelligence startup in Rome! “At JCU, I built up my knowledge and skills that now help me maintain a high level of performance at my workplace,” said Valeriya.
