JCU Welcomes Ambassadors and Cultural Attachés from 21 Countries
John Cabot University hosted an Ambassadors’ Lunch on Friday, June 8, welcoming 28 ambassadors, cultural attachés, and embassy representatives to the Guarini campus in Rome. Distinguished guests represented 21 countries: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Ethiopia, Finland, Iraq, Luxembourg, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, Ukraine, the United States, and Zambia.
President Franco Pavoncello welcomed the visitors to JCU and spoke about the importance of intercultural exchange and respect among future generations. He emphasized the international nature of JCU’s student body and the effort to create a dedicated group of international leaders capable of making our world a more peaceful, compassionate, and inspiring place.
Student Government president-elect Giovanni Raguso, an International Affairs and International Business double major from Palermo, Italy, also spoke about the importance of diplomacy and education for the new generation in a world without borders. He thanked President Franco Pavoncello for the opportunity to speak at the lunch, an event that brings so many cultures together, demonstrating how the world is getting smaller.
John Cabot University is expanding to accommodate its growing student body, currently 1300 students representing nearly 70 different countries. This year, John Cabot University dedicated its newest campus, the Caroline Critelli Guarini Campus, located in Piazza Belli. The first University-owned property, the new building represents the permanence of John Cabot University in Rome’s Trastevere neighborhood.
