JCU Welcomes Largest Undergraduate Class in University History
The John Cabot University community is pleased to kick off the Fall 2019 semester by welcoming the largest group of undergraduate students in the history of the university.
New degree-seeking freshmen and transfer students hail from 24 U.S. states, including Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington.
The entering degree-seeking international students come from 33 countries including Afghanistan, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russian Federation, Serbia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
Degree-seeking students from Italy come from 28 Italian cities including Ancona, Bari, Bologna, Catania, Macerata, Nettuno, Potenza, Rome, Viterbo, and many more.
John Cabot University’s visiting students come from over 90 U.S. and international universities. They include traditional study abroad students and first-time freshmen who are sent by their home institutions to spend their first semester at JCU.
There are over 1400 enrolled undergraduate freshmen, transfer students, study abroad students, gap year students, and freshmen abroad. All students help JCU fulfill its mission of fostering intercultural dialogue and inclusion as they benefit from an international American liberal arts education enriched by the vibrant cultural heritage of Rome.
During the five-day Orientation, students and families participate in multiple events including:
– Welcome sessions designed to introduce them to the University and the urban campus
– Family Orientation Sessions and tours
– Guided tours of the Eternal City and Navigation 101
– Safety Sessions and Immigration steps
– Housing and Residential Life workshops
– Registration for cultural and outdoor Activities and Trips
– Signing up for Clubs and Organizations, Community Service opportunities and Athletics
