JCU Hosts 2024 Alumni Reunion  

On September 28th and 29th, the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs and the JCU Alumni Association hosted the 2024 Alumni Reunion, which welcomed graduates from the classes of 1987 through 2024. Over 60 guests, including alumni, students, administration, and faculty, participated in a variety of events and activities.

Saturday’s events included a welcome and a light breakfast. On Saturday, a plenary session in the Aula Magna featured alumni speakers Patrik Ullman (Class of 1987), Anastasiia Shmatina (Class of 2018), Maria Bondar (Class of 2018), and Federico Virzo (Class of 2014). The session was titled “Unlocking Success: The Power of Soft Skills.” The Art History Society celebrated its 10th year anniversary with a roundtable discussion titled, “Talking Across 10 Years.” Both events were followed by a catered lunch in the Lemon Tree Courtyard, featuring alumni-related companies. President Franco Pavoncello and the President of the Alumni Association, Francesco Ruspoli, welcomed the guests to lunch. Alumni and representatives from Casale del Giglio, Caseificio Di Nucci, Pinna, San Leonardo, and Torpedino shared their products during lunch.

Casale Del Giglio: Founded in 1967, the estate is situated between Aprilia and Latina, 50 kilometers south of Rome. Casale del Giglio produces white, red, and rosé wine.
Caseificio Di Nucci: The Di Nucci family and started to produce artisanal cheese in 1662, in the Molise region, specializing in typical cheese, such as the famous Caciocavallo.  
Pinna: A family business started in 1919 in North Sardinia, specialized in the production of ricotta and pecorino cheese. 
San Leonardo: San Leonardo estate has been the residency of Marquises Guerrieri Gonzaga for more than three centuries now. The family specializes in the production of wine, grappa, and honey.
Torpedino: The Di Vito family has always cultivated tomatoes, and in 2007 they focused on the production of a particular type named “torpedino.”

The Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, along with the JCU Alumni Association, extends its gratitude to the alumni who generously contributed their products.

After lunch, a student ambassador led a tour of the JCU campuses and the 4m2 Gallery.

During the same weekend, on Saturday evening the President’s Gala also took place. On this special occasion, Frederick Vreeland was awarded the title of Trustee Emeritus in recognition of his outstanding contributions to John Cabot University, and the Distinguished Alumni Award 2024 was presented to Anselmo Guerrieri Gonzaga, JCU Class of 2000.

On Sunday, the reunion came to an end at Hotel Horti 14, where alumni enjoyed a farewell lunch, socialized, and registered for the alumni network at JCUalumni.org.
