Congratulations JCU Students on Excellent Results on CILS Exam (Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language)
Four John Cabot University students took the CILS Exam and earned the level of B2.
They were the first students to take advantage of a new agreement between John Cabot University and the University for Foreigners in Siena, Italy, which makes it possible to take the CILS (Certificate of Italian as a Foreign Language) exam at JCU.
The official CILS Certification, issued by the Università per Stranieri di Siena, certifies your knowledge of Italian, is valid throughout the world, and does not expire (as other certificates like TOEFL do).
Students can attempt to take the exam at all Common European Reference Levels (e.g. A1, A2, B1, etc.). Earning the CILS at a B2 level is enough to be accepted into any Italian university without the need for further testing, and a C2 level makes you eligible for a professional position as an official translator and teacher of Italian!
For more information about the examination places and times, and preparation for the exam, please contact the coordinator of JCU Foreign Language Resource Center Prof. Gina Siddu Pilia.
