Creative Writing Institute Welcomes Francesca Marciano
John Cabot University’s Institute for Creative Writing and Literary Translation welcomed Francesca Marciano on June 17th, for a reading of her recent work.
Author and film script writer Marciano was first introduced by JCU professor, novelist and Interim Coordinator of the Institute George Minot, followed by the Institute’s Writer in Residence Jhumpa Lahiri, whose novel The Namesake is also the focus of this year’s Italy Reads program.
The Secchia Terrace was the setting for a large crowd of friends, colleagues and students who came to show their support to a writer who embraces the double identity found by writing fiction in both Italian and English.
Marciano is currently working on a new collection of short stories due to be out in March 2014.
