JCU Model United Nations Society Conference Tackles Cyber Security Issue
From February 12 to 14, 2015, the Model United Nations Society hosted its Fifth Annual JCU MUN Conference in the Aula Magna Regina at John Cabot University. The club was pleased to welcome students from several high schools – Liceo Blaise Pascal of Pomezia, St. George British International School of Rome, Liceo Innocenzo III of Rome –, as well as a delegation from Qatar Leadership Academy, led by an Alumna of the University, Professor Mia Elazizi. This year’s topic was the controversial issue of cyber security.
JCU President Franco Pavoncello and Dean Mary Merva inaugurated the event and gave a welcome speech addressing the delegates.
The JCU MUN Conference is among the most important events JCU offers to high schools. For delegates, it is an occasion to familiarize with the United Nations system; for MUN members, it is a training session for organizing conferences and formal meetings.
Overall, the Conference was a success and the JCU MUN Society looks forward to hosting the event next year with a new topic and new faces!
