Two JCU Students Obtain Prestigious Internships in China
John Cabot University is pleased to announce that two of its students have been selected for prestigious internships in Shanghai, China this summer. Valentina Lamorgese and Carlo Sammarco were among the 100 to be chosen during a rigorous Europe-wide selection process conducted by China’s CRCC, which included over 1000 applicants.
Valentina Lamorgese, an Italian graduating senior in International Affairs, will be working with Mifai Mama, a small NGO that specializes in assisting children with disabilities: “This experience is going to be fantastic because it will further my long-term interests in non-profit organizations and also because it will expose me to a world that is so different from my own.”
Carlo Sammarco, a junior in Business Administration, also from Italy, is looking forward to an internship with a Chinese company where he will apply his understanding of business in a completely new setting: “I consider this opportunity to be truly exceptional: it will teach me how business is conducted in Shanghai, one of the most important financial centers of the world, and how to adapt to a new environment, which I believe is a key skill to succeeding in today’s world.”
JCU’s Career Services Center prepares students for employment opportunities through workshops, lectures, resume and interview preparation, and one-on-one meetings with companies. It also makes available competitive internships with over 150 organizations and companies every semester.
