JCU Student Services Holds First Leadership Training Retreat for Club Officers
On September 5th and 6th, the Student Services Department organized the first Leadership Training Retreat. More than 30 JCU club leaders attended the event to develop their leadership skills and teamwork capabilities while getting to know each other.
President Franco Pavoncello addressed the students in the opening training session. He emphasized integrity and transparency as key traits to leadership at John Cabot University.
On Friday, sessions were focused on leadership styles and project management. On Saturday, students participated in team building exercises ranging from icebreaker games to outdoor activities. The activities focused on the importance of teambuilding, trust, self-assessment, communication, problem solving, and leadership.
Pilar Murguia, Director of Student Services, said, “The training was a great opportunity for students to understand that leadership is not a position; it is action and example. Student leaders were able to understand their limits, to gain awareness of themselves as individuals, and learn to listen to each other in order to achieve a group goal.”
