Prof. Bessi on "The Wine Show"
Professor Benedetta Bessi, who teaches Classical Studies and Ancient History at JCU, recently lent her expertise in ancient Roman wine to the British ITV channel. She collaborated with popular actors Matthew Goode and Matthew Rhys on the program “The Wine Show,” which is currently being aired on Saturdays on ITV.
Professor Bessi’s main area of research is the archaeology of death and mourning and she has done fieldwork in Italy, Syria, Greece, and Libya. She created the course Wine and the Culture of Drinking in Classical Antiquity.
