JCU Welcomes Spring 2017 Students

Spring 2017 Orientation at JCU

Orientation Leaders welcome students to Guarini Campus for Spring 2017.

The John Cabot University community is pleased to welcome new and returning students to campus for the Spring 2017 semester.

With over 1,200 students enrolled, this spring marks one of John Cabot’s largest and most diverse groups of students. JCU’s new degree-seeking students represent 15 countries, 10 U.S. states, and 11 Italian regions.

Visiting students are traveling to Rome from 31 US states, 7 countries, and 126 universities in the United States, Canada, Australia, France, Norway, and South Africa.

During the five-day Orientation, students participate in sessions designed to introduce them to the University and the Eternal City. Skippers lead their groups through Navigation 101, a tour of Rome which acquaints students with the city center and teaches them how to purchase a public transportation ticket, find their closest pharmacy and supermarket, and discover the quickest route to Rome’s main train station, Termini.

In order to enhance students’ spring semester experience, the office of Student Services has prepared a wide variety of activities including Italian cooking classes, tours in Rome, and an opera visit, as well as day and weekend trips to the region of Campania, to the Italian cities of Montalcino, Viterbo, Orvieto, and to the Roman countryside. Students will also be able to participate in a variety of exercise classes at the Fitness Center located in the Gianicolo Residence, travel with the JCU Athletics team to ski, hike, bike, and sail in Abruzzo and Lazio, and try out for JCU’s soccer, basketball, and volleyball teams.

Welcome and have a great semester at JCU!
