John Cabot Students Shine at Fall Career Fair

Career Fair Fall 2018

Career Fair Fall 2018

“Thanks to the Career Fair I have already obtained a position with Poema, a company that deals with SAP knowledge bridging,” says Class of 2019 expected graduate Federica Nappa, after attending Career Fair.

Poema is one of the 36 organizations and 70 business representatives that participated in the second Fall Career Fair hosted by the JCU Center for Career Services on November 16, 2018.

Over 100 expected graduates and alumni took advantage of the chance to launch their career paths with full-time job and internship opportunities in the fields of Human Resources Management, Tourism and Hospitality, Education, Marketing and Communications, Finance, Business and Consulting, and IT Services. This Career Fair, the second of the Fall semester, consolidated the efforts of the Career Services team, which recently reached the milestone of more than 600 partner companies and organizations collaborating with the University.

Career Services Director Antonella Salvatore said, “I think this was our best Career Fair since we started in 2010. We got positive feedback from company representatives who were satisfied with the outstanding level of the candidates they interviewed. Students and graduates were pleased as well because they had the opportunity to interview with many companies that offered jobs and not only internships.”

In addition, participating students and alumni benefitted from the event’s new format, which allowed them to meet as many business representatives as possible. Most students interviewed with at least four companies and some actually managed ten.

Among the professionals from partner companies, Lorenzo Bartolotta, JCU Continuing Education alumnus and currently Sales Key Account, Business Development and Talent Acquisition at OV Energy S.p.A., UniCredit and WWF joint venture, was impressed by the quality of the students and alumni he interviewed. He found that the candidates were well prepared to face the interview and had strong academic backgrounds, as well as interesting work experiences both in Italy and abroad.

The next Career Fair will be on Friday, April 12, 2019. See the event’s complete photo album on the official JCU Center for Career Services’ Facebook page.
