JCU Alumni and Friends came together to celebrate the Holiday Season in Rome on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. The event was held at Il Collegio, an exclusive restaurant in the center of Rome owned by JCU alumnus Antonio Santarelli. The name “Il Collegio”  comes from the nearby Via del Collegio Capranica, where, at number 41, the historic winery of Santarelli family Berardino Santarelli & Sons was located. With the purpose of breathing new life into the family business, Antonio Santarelli launched a project to revive Piazza Capranica’s historic “Wine & Oil Store” in a present-day style, without sacrificing the ambient mood of the 1930s.

The event was organized by Jacqueline Falk Maggi, Director of the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs, and her assistant Irene De Giuseppe. More than thirty alumni from various graduating classes gathered together over an Italian-style aperitivo, with gourmet food and cocktails. The party also included a musical performance by alumna Clarissa Magnani.

JCU President Franco Pavoncello and the President of the Alumni Association Francesco Ruspoli celebrated the John Cabot University’s many accomplishments in 2018. In particular, they talked about the inauguration of the Caroline Critelli Guarini Campus, the progress towards the creation of a Business School and the establishment of new partnerships with Columbia University, Oxford University and the Università Bocconi in Milan. Long-standing alumni got to know recent graduates and offered them advice on how to make the most of what they learned at John Cabot University.

The Alumni Association looks forward to bringing the JCU community together on a regular basis by organizing more events in the future.
