Frohring Foundation Donates One Million Dollars to JCU
President Franco Pavoncello is pleased to announce that the Paul and Maxine Frohring Foundation has donated one million dollars to John Cabot University. This generous contribution adds to a long history of outstanding support from the Frohring family, which has played a vital role in JCU’s growth and success.
Founded in 1958 by Paul Frohring and his wife, Maxine, the Frohring Foundation is an independent organization dedicated to supporting higher education. For three generations, the Frohring family has been instrumental in advancing the University’s mission. John Cabot University is privileged to have both Trustee Paula Frohring and her daughter, Trustee Kristin Finkelstein serving on our Board, continuing the family tradition of ensuring the University’s success.
In 1999, JCU’s library underwent renovation and was inaugurated in its current location on the lower level of Via della Lungara. On that occasion, the Frohring Library was renamed thanks to a generous donation from the Frohring family.
In 2015, the Frohring Foundation contributed one million dollars to provide scholarships for deserving students from developing countries outside the US and EU. The Foundation’s gifts have supported the University’s operations, facilitated the construction of the Aurelian Wing of the Frohring Library, and provided grants to enhance professors’ research and professional development.
In early 2021, the Frohring Foundation donated $950,000 to the University, an inspiring recognition of the immense community efforts required to sustain the University during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On September 29, 2022, John Cabot University honored the Frohring family by renaming the Tiber Campus to the Frohring Campus, acknowledging their generous support that dates back to JCU’s founding in 1972.
“On behalf of the John Cabot University community, I extend heartfelt thanks to Paula Frohring, Kristin Frohring Kushlan Finkelstein, and the Frohring Foundation for their unwavering dedication and continued support,” said President Franco Pavoncello.
