On February 4, 5 and 6, JCU’s Model United Nations Society hosted its Sixth Annual MUN Conference for high school delegates. 75 students, each representing an assigned state, came from schools all across Rome and the surrounding areas. The conference’s topic was Nuclear Security, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation. The three-day conference was organized and supervised by the student members of the university’s MUN Society.

The event started on Thursday February 4 with the opening ceremony conducted by the Secretary General of the Conference, Giuseppe Spatafora. The two guest speakers, experts in nuclear-related issues, were JCU Alumnus Roberto Maria Sciarra and Professor Pejman Abdolmohammadi. The opening ceremony also included speeches by JCU President Franco Pavoncello, the MUN Faculty Advisor Pamela Harris, the club’s President Cristian Tracci and Vice-President Davide Orsitto.
