JCU Community Expresses Solidarity with People of Nepal
The John Cabot University community wishes to express its solidarity with the people of Nepal in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck the country on Saturday, April 25. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake near Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu has claimed over 5,000 lives and caused over 10,000 injuries. Many villages have been completely buried by landslides and countless historic monuments and heritage sites have been destroyed.
The John Cabot University Model United Nations (JCU MUN) encourages the JCU community to come together to help raise funds to donate to this cause.
JCU MUN is currently working on identifying an appropriate organization to which the funds will be designated.
There will be a box placed outside the Student Services Office, starting today April 30, where you will be able to make your donation.
Any contribution will be greatly appreciated: if we each donate just €2, we will raise over €3,000!
We hope that all JCU students, administrators, staff, and faculty can get involved and donate, in order to maximize our impact.
