2012 JCU Student Award Winners Announced!
John Cabot University held its annual student award ceremony on April 12th, on Guarini Campus’s beautiful Secchia Terrace. President Franco Pavoncello and Dean Mary Merva were both present at the event, and in both their speeches they praised this year’s group of winners, not just for their impressive academic achievements, but also for the many ways in which they have contributed to the growth of John Cabot University.
Among the award winners was Student Government President Alessandro Lanuto, who received the Presidential Award for Outstanding Service to John Cabot University, as well as the Student Leadership Award, the Political Science Award and the Alessandro Mioni Student Award, which he shared with fellow student Gianmarco Fanciulli.
Christianne Alvarez instead was given the Service to the John Cabot Community Award, along with one for Marketing, while Charles Northrop came away with both the Student Worker and the Classical Studies Awards. Professor Thomas Govero, who presented the latter, praised Charles for his outstanding academic achievement, which has seen him be accepted into Cambridge University’s graduate program in Classical Studies, a first for a JCU student and a testimonial both to his excellence as a student and to the quality of John Cabot University’s teaching faculty.
