On September 21, 2019, John Cabot University President Franco Pavoncello presented Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte with the degree of Doctor of Public Service, honoris causa. The conferral of the degree took place in a private ceremony in Rome at Palazzo Chigi, seat of the Italian government, in the presence of the JCU Board of Trustees and Vice President and Dean of Academics Mary Merva.

The Guarini Institute for Public Affairs presented an event entitled “The Mueller Report and the 2020 Presidential Race” at John Cabot University on July 17, 2019. The speakers were Hans Noel, Andrew Spannaus, and Anna Zafesova. The event was moderated by Eduardo Albrecht, an alumnus of John Cabot University, now professor at Mercy College in New York City and part of the Guarini Institute advisory council.

After graduating in International Affairs and History from JCU in 1999, Eduardo Albrecht earned his M.A. in Anthropology of Development and Ph.D. in Anthropology at the School of Oriental and African Studies University of London. Eduardo currently teaches in New York City. In recent years Eduardo has been involved in JCU through his affiliation to the Guarini Institute.
