The students of Expanded Cinema have explored approaches to listening, observing, and recording through audiovisual projects that intermix documentary, fiction, and abstract modes of filmmaking. In response to the current pandemic, these final student videos investigate the idea of Regeneration during a time of quarantine through their understanding of expanded cinema.

This year, we celebrated the incoming class of 2024 virtually on Zoom with a total of 79 accepted students tuning in from countries around the world, including Bolivia, Ecuador, Italy, Namibia, Poland, and the United States.

Cornelia Lauf, Visiting Professor of Art History at JCU recently created the Pernice Artist Residency in Sicily. Based in Monreale, near Palermo, Sicily, the Residence is located on the grounds of the Masseria Pernice, an ancient vineyard and farm run by artist Paolo Sallier de La Tour, whose family has been in the wine business for centuries.
